It is approved by USA Pickleball (USAP) for tournament play. Raw carbon fiber paddles provide a grainy textured surface that allows for a lot of spin and enhances control. The combination of this paddle’s raw surface and the thick 16mm core results in a strong, stable paddle with consistent and accurate shots and more control.
The long paddle length of 16.5” extends players’ reach and the 5.5” handle length allows for powerful two-handed backhands. The slightly smaller surface width of 7.375” gives players an aerodynamic feel and great hand speed, and the weight of ~7.9 ounces provides stability and balance for all aspects of the game, including plays at the net and returning hard shots.
GRUVN was just the 3rd paddle company to make carbon fiber paddles back in early 2022 with our RAW paddle series, and they have been known for feeling very plush and controllable, yet still having all the power needed. The CRUZN series is an update on the RAW paddles that includes thinner handles that are the same size on all models (the handles on the RAW paddles varied), and the handles also include reinforced carbon. The CRUZN series is great for those players who feel that thermoformed paddles and power paddles are too powerful. And for such high quality paddles, it's tough to beat the price!
The CRUZN-16X has a 16mm thick polypropylene honeycomb core designed to evenly react to the force of impact and provide precision control, while also absorbing vibration and noise. Polypropylene is the most popular core among pickleball players.
The 3D perforated cushion grip is made of double-layer two-color hand grips. The inner layer is made of sweat-absorbing sponge and the outer layer is made of PU material and uses big air hole design. The grip is very comfortable and the anti-slip and sweat-absorbing effect is of the highest quality.

All paddles in the CRUZN series are 16mm. The difference is the shapes:
Elongated:
- CRUZN-16H: 5.875" handle length (smaller face, more power, great whip)
- CRUZN-16X: 5.5" handle length (great for two-handed backhands)
- CRUZN-16E: 4.75" handle length (huge face, great for control and defense)
Wide Body/Standard:
- CRUZN-16S: 5.5" handle (wide body paddles are best for control)
Hybrid:
- CRUZN-16HD: 5.5" handle (a great mix of the control of wide body paddles and the power of elongated paddles)
The biggest difference is that the LAZR and MUVN paddles have a lot more pop and power compared to the CRUZN, RAW, and CRUZ paddles because they are thermoformed. It can be difficult for some players to switch to a thermoformed paddle because of the extra power they provide. If you prefer more control, then the CRUZN and RAW paddles would be better suited for you. The CRUZ paddles are in between the CRUZN/RAW and LAZR/MUVN paddles in regards to power. The LAZR and MUVN paddles play fairly similar to each other, with the LAZR providing more pop and a bit more power and ball dwell time. The LAZR paddles add a different aesthetic to the surface with the red and blue blends for those who don’t prefer the black raw carbon fiber surface. The CRUZN and RAW paddles feel a bit more plush than the CRUZ paddles, and the RAW paddles have thicker handles.
- Each CRUZN paddle comes with a GRUVN paddle cleaner, which is a stick of rubber that is 2.5” x 2” x 1” in size, This is for carbon fiber and Kevlar-carbon fiber paddles only (not graphite or composite paddles). Rub it on your paddle surface to keep it clean and also maximize the spin. It isn't pretty, but your paddle will be after using it :)
Your paddle can become damaged from extreme temperatures. Extreme cold temperatures will cause the core and hitting surface to become brittle and crack. Extreme high temperatures will soften the core and hitting surface and can cause delamination. This occurs when the hitting surface separates from the core. Dead spots and other issues will arise from this. Do not leave your paddle out in the sun on a hot day, be sure to cover it from the heat or it can be damaged. Do not leave your paddle in your vehicle during the summer or winter.

GRUVN's CRUZN series of pickleball paddles are guaranteed to be free of manufacturing defects for a period of 6 months from the date of purchase. If found to be defective, a repair or replacement will be issued.
What does the warranty not cover?
• Normal wear and tear, or damages caused by abuse or negligence, including grip, edge guard, face and core materials.
• User modification, fading or scratched surfaces, or hitting other objects other than the ball (like the ground or other paddles).
• Use of paddle in temperatures below 40F or 5°C.
• Paddles being played in or stored in very hot or very cold weather.
• Rattling that doesn't affect performance.
• Warranty is non-transferable and only valid to the original purchaser.
• Warranty does not apply to replacement paddles.
• Other restrictions may apply
